NSW Yanalangami: Strong Women, Strong Communities Program

In March 2022 we will run the first-ever in person Yanalangami Emerging Changemaker sessions at Tranby. This will be a weekend of connection, culture, confidence and empowerment for 12 Emerging Changemakers!

This unique version will be open to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander women, aged 18 to 35 who are currently living in NSW.

When: Friday 11th – Sunday 13th March
Where: Tranby campus in Glebe, Gadigal Country, Sydney.
How: 12 Indigenous Female Changemakers will be selected and financially supported to visit Tranby (in Sydney) for a weekend of cultural talks, workshops and leadership training.

If you know a deadly woman leading positive change in community, nominate her for the Emerging Changemaker program in 2022!
To be eligible Changemakers must:
– identify as a woman (Trans women are welcome and encouraged to apply)
– identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
– be aged between 18 to 35 years
– currently live in NSW
– be available to travel to Warrang (Sydney) for the program on Friday 11th – Sunday 13th March

Which deadly changemaker will you be nominating?

Changemaker Selection

Our AAC will review each applicant against the following Changemaker qualities:

1. Resilience
2. Commitment to community
3. Cultural Integrity
4. Demonstrated Leadership
5. Drive (personal & professional)
6. Collaboration/working with others
7. A Role Model for other girls and community members

In addition, the AAC will take into account the following:

A. The relevance of the NSW Emerging Changemaker Program to the applicant’s leadership journey, and
B. Their demonstrated commitment to completing the program

Before you apply, please note:
The weekly commitment for the Combined Program is approximately 4 hours; 2 hours to complete the pre-learning materials and 2 hours for the online yarning circle.
The weekly commitment for the Professional Development Program is an additional 4 weeks for 2 hours per week.
The online yarning circles take place on Wednesday evenings at 5.30pm AEST.
