The Yanalangami Program
The Strong Women, Strong Communities campaign will bring together, support and grow the skills of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander female changemakers around Australia.
This exciting program will strengthen women’s self-confidence, professional skills and community networks to encourage Indigenous female-led change. It will inspire, connect and culturally ground women, together finding their strength and amplifying their voices as powerful agents of grassroots change.
This is about celebrating Indigenous women’s strength, connecting women from communities across Australia and sharing positive stories of role models who inspire young Indigenous girls and women. These changemakers are from community and work for community. They are strong women who look like us and can amplify the voices, experiences and concerns of Indigenous girls and women around Australia.
This program features online yarning circles, one-on-one mentoring, workshops led by Aboriginal Community Changemakers from around Australia, project development and support, leadership training and upskilling.
A national social media campaign will encourage Changemakers to self-nominate or be nominated by someone who knows their passion and experience in creating positive community change. From these nominations, our Aboriginal Advisory Council Members will select a total of 16 women, to undertake the online leadership program together.
